ABOUT

Yalfal Kasa – an example of women passionate about having her own business. In her childhood she started small business in baking bread and later realized that she has an entrepreneurial talent. Her aspirations together with hard work and allowed her to make her family self-sufficient. By overcoming all difficulties, she opened small shop in her community. Yalfal says: “I’m a woman with big dreams, especially in expanding and modernizing the business sector. I aim to move from small shops to big supermarkets and distribution centers. With financial support, I believe I can strengthen my business, fulfill my dreams, provide a better life for my two children, and help others along the way.”

Her community lives in Gelan condominiums in the south of Addis Abeba, which is located in the outskirts of the city.  People rely on the local convenience store for daily items because they don't have time to go into town. Going to town means extra transportation costs and stressful commutes after work. To address this issue Yalfal opened small shop (kiosk) in her community. To meet the growing demand, Yalfal needs to expand her shop. The aim of her business – to provide her community with good quality services by affordable prices, to make their lives better and easier: “As a parent myself and as my husband and myself both have challenging days, I understand the struggle of my community and I want to be part of the solution”.

Support Yalfal on her journey to success!
