At Bridging Gaps, we believe in continuously improving how we empower entrepreneurs in underserved communities. As our community microloan model expands across multiple countries, ensuring transparency, tracking progress, and supporting entrepreneurs effectively becomes even more essential. That’s why we are excited to increase our efficiency through the automation of our impact measurement—a game-changer in how we collect and share data.
Partnering with Tech To The Rescue
At the end of 2024, we joined Tech To The Rescue (TTTR), a global movement that connects nonprofits with tech innovators to solve some of the world’s biggest challenges. Through TTTR, we have been matched with two amazing tech partners who are helping us streamline our data collection and impact tracking:
📱 A mobile app for entrepreneurs - with eWorkForce
Together with eWorkForce, a tech company based in Ivory Coast, we are developing a mobile application that will allow our microloan recipients to:
✅ Set up their profiles and track their business progress
📆 Share monthly updates on savings, profits, success stories, and challenges
🤝 Access additional support and mentorship
Since not all our entrepreneurs have smartphones, the app will also be accessible from shared laptops in the community. Depending on our testing, we may also introduce an SMS-based option to make it even more accessible. The pilot phase will roll out in the coming months—stay tuned!
📊 An impact dashboard for donors & the public - with The Information Lab
Last week, The Information Lab helped us build a Power BI dashboard to showcase the impact of our work in real time. This dashboard pulls in live data from our entrepreneurs and local partners, displaying:
🌍 Where we are active and how many people we’ve trained
📈 Progress of our entrepreneurs, including business growth and savings
💡 Workshops and partnerships being delivered
Our goal is to provide full transparency to our donors, supporters, and the wider public while making it easier to track our success and refine our programs.
