Rosana Santiago is a 31-year-old woman living in Rio das Pedras and this is her story:
“I was born in Rio das Pedras, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I live here with my little baby, my husband, and my sisters. I am an art teacher and handcraft artist. I am very passionate about arts and supporting my community as well. Whenever it is possible, I facilitate handmade toy workshops with the children, supported by Semeando Amor.I used to work for someone else in a stationery store, but I didn't have enough creative space to craft in the way I wanted, and I felt I could create my visions independently. When I left the store, I decided to start my own projects, putting my personal identity in every piece.I believe my own business “- Papelaria personalizada” is not only my job, but it also reflects my dream, self-esteem, and personal fulfillment. My vision is to be able to grow my business to financially support my family and to create handcraft arts that people love.
In order to scale my production, I need to automate my work with a paper machine.
With the new paper machine, parts of the work I need to do manually can be done more effectively and quicker. This will enable me to sell more of my products and also serve more clients."
